For smooth operation, the 498 uses a 7-stainless-steel-bearing system with instant anti-reverse, a full metal body and sideplate for solid gear alignment, and an innovative bail halo for added rotor and bail arm strength under heavy drag pressure. A Carbon Hybrid drag applies consistent drag pressure, and an aluminum spool with line-capacity markers tells you approximately how much line you have left on the spool.
